Antique Late 1800's Chest from Normandy, France.

Beautiful antique French chest from the late 1800s. It was purchased in Düsseldorf, Germany in 2001 from an antique store specializing in artifacts from Normandy, France. This trunk was originally used for household bedding and was also taken on long voyages. There are very old, original wheels on the bottom (one wheel has been redone but it still has the original metal strap on the outside) to allow it to be “rolled” onto ships, etc. or just move around the house. The trunk has two secret compartments built inside and three drawers at the bottom It was carefully shipped to Mill Valley, California in 2016.
