This magnificent piece was purchased a while back ago from RH. Drawn from the archives of fine art photographer William Curtis Rolf – whose exquisite black-and-white photographs depict a lifelong affection for the 17th, 18th and 19th-century lifestyles of France and England – these beautiful staircases were photographed in the Palace of Versailles and Château de Sceaux, a grand country house outside the city of Paris. Distinguished by their structural beauty and graceful lines, each one is stunning for its unique composition.
Finished completely in polychrome marble, this staircase was the principal access route to the Queen's Guards' Room and then the Queen's Chamber. This image was taken from the first landing. Superb from all angles, the richness of this staircase's materials enhance its captivating design.
Printed to archival standards on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Ultra Smooth paper using Canon Lucia pigment inks. Limited edition of 75 prints.
Set behind Plexiglas® in a wood frame with black finish; mat not included.
